Jay Casiple Esposo, currently serving as an Oiler, has been a part of Lacerta since 2019. His journey with the company began as a Utility worker, and he has since progressed to a key role in the engine room. Jay started his seafaring career in August 2020, and he has experienced significant growth and development, both professionally and personally, during his time with Lacerta.
Jay is deeply grateful to the entire Lacerta management team for treating him like family and supporting him throughout his career. He fondly recalls his time as a stay-in cadet at the office, where he received free food and allowances, helping him pass the Marina Theoretical Examination for Engine Operational. This supportive environment has been a cornerstone of his professional development, teaching him to work under pressure and cultivate patience—skills he now applies onboard.
One of Jay's most memorable moments with Lacerta was receiving a proposal to join an international vessel, which was promptly approved by the principal. His significant achievement includes passing the OIC License for Engineering Watchkeeping, a milestone he attributes to the support and guidance from Lacerta Shipping.
Jay's experience with Lacerta has been overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the company's commitment to helping its crew, treating them like family, and providing assistance with documentation and other needs. As Jay looks forward to more years with Lacerta, he expresses his gratitude for the opportunity to share his story and for the company's role in his success.
